Nhon Trach 2 Power Plant begins operations (15/11/2011)

 

PetroVietnam Power Corporation on 12 November started commercial operations at the Nhon Trach 2 Power Plant.

 

The Nhon Trach 2 Power Plant, which is located in the south of Dong Nai Province, approximately 35 kilometers from Ho Chi Minh City, has total investment of US $700 million.

 

It comprises two SGT5-4000F gas turbines, two heat-recovery steam generators, an SST5-5000 steam turbine, three SGen-1000A air-cooled generators, the entire electrical equipment, and instruments and controls as well as ancillary and auxiliary systems. With an installed capacity of approximately 750 MW, the power plant will make an eco-friendly contribution toward the country's significant increase in power demand.

Viet Nam is one of the fastest growing countries in Southeast Asia and its power demand is increasing by 11 to 13% per year.
